"In our image-propelled social media era, some photographers fear for the future of the art, while others are galvanised by it. As technology increasingly shapes how we see and share the world, how is photography changing in response?"

I think the teachers/educators should completely change the way of teaching. Instead of teaching knowledge they should teach how to look for what you need and choose from all the offers you can find in internet. We need another kind of knowledge now. I don't need a teacher to learn something, I need a teacher to learn how to learn and have a good base to learn from. Great blog! Sorry for talking too much :)

As a photo educator for over 25 years I’ve honor to watch photography evolve but many people behind the camera have not followed this trend. In order to understand and create we need to know it’s history. Some of my time is spent with my students exploring different media, galleries, museums and Instagram . When we use Instagram it’s not about the all the likes but content and conversation. The last two exhibitions that created conversation and I mean real conversation were Nee Black Vanguard at the Aperture Foundation and ICP presentation of Contact High and Tyler Mitchell work. Context, composition and presentation of images that actually tell a story.

I feel that art in a digital/ social media platform can very easily get lost or devalued in the endless flow of information. Purpose, intent and a story are what give art meaning otherwise it is just an interesting picture with no context. Also the very sources of what you are looking at the art on whether if it is a phone or a computer takes away from the feeling that the art might be trying to invoke.
